2013 District 9800 Changeover & Awards Night    

Saturday 29th June 2013

District Governor Dennis Shore & incoming District Governor Ross Butterworth invite you and your partner to join them  for this annual event.

Hiroshima Peace Forum Report to District 9800

In the presence of District Governor Dennis Shore and our guests, we will formally welcome home the District 9800 Peace team and receive their report on the Hiroshima Peace Forum.


Rotary Engaged - the 2013 Assembly    

District Governor Elect, Ross Butterworth, the District Training team and the Rotary Club of Melton invite all District 9800 Clubs and Rotarians to attend the Rotary Engaged – the 2013 Assembly event on Sunday May 19 2013 at Tabcorp Park, Melton. Following feedback from next year’s Club Presidents the newly formatted District Assembly will provide an opportunity for D9800 Rotarians to engage with a number of training options to be involved in conversation about programs of interest, learn how to develop Programs and learn about new projects, significant change to past District Assemblies. The Registration cost for Rotarians remains at $25.00, including lunch; only $10.00 if optional lunch is not ordered. The event begins at 9.15am with registrations being taken from 8.15am.

RYLA - Registrations extended    

The 2012 Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) camp will be held at The Oasis Centre in Mt Evelyn between Sunday 2nd to Saturday 8th December 2012.


Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment    

The next RYPEN camp will be held on the weekend of  Friday 26 – Sunday 28 October 2012. The cut off for applications is Monday 24 September 2012.

Hat Day - Australian Rotary Health    

Hat Day is Australian Rotary Health’s community and action awareness day aimed at raising funds for mental health research and preventing Australians from keeping mental health issues ‘under their hats’.

Hat Day 2012 for Mental Health Research

Hat Day is on again in 2012. 

Clubs and Districts are putting into place plans for next year’s Hat Day.

This year we hope to get greater involvement with business and the general community.

What are some of the plans?

District 9810 are looking at selling something like paper hats at the main Melbourne railways stations.

Districts 9500 & 9520 are running a Hat Day sticker project throughout the districts using this design.

District 9830 is planning a couple of major events and a number of club events. This could include a Race Day in Launceston.

Each year in early May the students organise Café International – a cabaret style evening providing entertainment all evening with a 3 course dinner with wine.  Having your Rotary club book a table or two not only gives the students confidence and great satisfaction by entertaining you all evening but also gives much needed financial support to student resources and a nominated charity; previously the deserving organisation has been Interplast.  This year another organisation  supported by Rotary,  Alola will receive the donation

Federation Square Lights Up to     

25-27 February, 2012

Melbourneʼs Federation Square with its wide piazza and striking architecture is one of Australiaʼs most iconic buildings. This February 25 it will join other iconic buildings around the world to be illuminated to celebrate Rotaryʼs signature “End Polio Now” campaign. The illumination will run from 25 to 27 February.
