The Group Study Exchange program is alive and well in District 9800 as we exchange with District 1860 in the Mannheim area of Germany in 2014. The German team led by Beate Holzwarth are arriving in Melbourne late February and the Rotary Club of Brighton Beach invite you to attend the Welcome Dinner on Tuesday 25th February at 6.30 for 7.00pm at Milanos Hotel The Esplanade in Brighton.
The cost is $48 per head for a two course meal including canapes and drinks on arrival.

We need 400+ volunteers to work on the day for a donation of between $30 and $60 per person depending on the role allocated.
We need all metropolitan clubs to arrange at least 10 people to participate. This can be members of your club or from a group that can help themselves raise funds e.g. local school, Scouts, etc.

District Governor Elect, Ross Butterworth, the District Training team and the Rotary Club of Melton invite all District 9800 Clubs and Rotarians to attend the Rotary Engaged – the 2013 Assembly event on Sunday May 19 2013 at Tabcorp Park, Melton. Following feedback from next year’s Club Presidents the newly formatted District Assembly will provide an opportunity for D9800 Rotarians to engage with a number of training options to be involved in conversation about programs of interest, learn how to develop Programs and learn about new projects, significant change to past District Assemblies. The Registration cost for Rotarians remains at $25.00, including lunch; only $10.00 if optional lunch is not ordered. The event begins at 9.15am with registrations being taken from 8.15am.

Hat Day is on again in 2012.
Clubs and Districts are putting into place plans for next year’s Hat Day.
This year we hope to get greater involvement with business and the general community.
District 9810 are looking at selling something like paper hats at the main Melbourne railways stations.
Districts 9500 & 9520 are running a Hat Day sticker project throughout the districts using this design.
District 9830 is planning a couple of major events and a number of club events. This could include a Race Day in Launceston.
